It’s been quite a trip, these last few years. I would never have thought that I would get beyond 2020 with WFR, let alone see the journey that we have embarked on that has seen both the label and the studio come so far in such a short space of time.

Alongside the story of WFR has been a slowly mounting collection of remixes. Some have never seen a physical release, and some have either barely, or never, seen the light of day.

As a product of the rave generation, I have always held the art of the remix close to my heart, and I don’t think that I’ll ever change in that regard. In our indie electronic community, remixing is as important a networking tool as it is a musical endeavour. Putting your hand up to do a remix for an artist shows that you are willing to cooperate with others, and that you are keen to get your name out there as a collaborator. Some artists have landed themselves in the lap of WFR as a result of doing remixes.

So here’s the first volume of remixes by my own fair hand. There’s a right mixture in here. Some have an acid tinge, some have glacial beats, some have a lo-fi feel, there’s guitars, there’s even some out and out techno in here.

Many thanks to all the original artists for letting me loose on your music, and for giving permission for inclusion on this album.

Wasn't too sure about this one, being a bunch of remixes of the same two tracks but it does work as an album. The remixed versions are all different enough to make it a worthwhile purchase. The Empty Sea mix of Einhlida is too short, mind. jumbotrousers
